    Description

Telemedicine has rapidly evolved into a core component of maternal-fetal medicine, transforming access and delivery for high-risk pregnancies. This session will review the latest updates in technology, regulatory changes, and reimbursement models, along with emerging best practices for virtual MFM care. We will address common challenges—such as interstate licensure, workflow integration, and patient engagement—and explore opportunities to enhance clinical outcomes, expand reach, and improve equity in perinatal care.

This webinar will be held on September 24th at 10:00 am - 11:15 am ET. A recording will be available after the live session.

    Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of the activity, learners will be able to:

    1. Analyze current telemedicine regulations, reimbursement models, and licensure requirements to optimize maternal-fetal medicine services for high-risk pregnancies.
    2. Implement evidence-based best practices in telemedicine technology, workflow integration, and patient engagement to improve access and quality of MFM care.
    3. Evaluate strategies to overcome organizational and systemic barriers in telemedicine delivery to enhance equity in perinatal outcomes.

    Discription

Traditional prenatal testing methods, including CMA and exome sequencing, can yield informative results, but often leave diagnostic gaps. Genome analysis is helping to close those gaps by identifying clinically significant variants that standard approaches may miss, such as small CNVs, short tandem repeat expansions, mitochondrial variants, and others. This webinar will highlight the clinical utility of prenatal genome testing, outline the technical advantages that contribute to higher diagnostic yield, and examine its implications for patient counseling, perinatal care, and informed consent. Real-world case examples will demonstrate how genome analysis supports more informed and confident decision-making in prenatal care.
