Description:
Join the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM) for a timely and practical webinar addressing the resurgence of measles and the critical implications for reproductive-aged and pregnant patients. As cases continue to rise across the United States, this session will equip clinicians with the latest information on epidemiology, diagnosis, and management of measles during pregnancy, as well as best practices for prevention.
Speakers will discuss the maternal and fetal health outcomes associated with measles, review treatment and vaccination considerations across the reproductive spectrum (preconception, pregnancy, postpartum, and lactation), and explore system-level and individual infection control measures. Attendees will also gain tools to counter misinformation, address common myths about the MMR vaccine, and have effective, patient-centered conversations about maternal immunization.
Resources from SMFM, ACOG, CDC, and other partners will be highlighted to support implementation of evidence-based strategies in clinical practice.
Agenda Topics Include:
- U.S. measles epidemiology and outbreak trends
- Maternal and fetal health outcomes of measles infection
- Diagnosis and clinical management in pregnancy
- MMR vaccine eligibility and guidance
- Infection prevention at the system and individual levels
- Debunking misinformation and vaccine myths
- Patient-centered strategies for vaccine counseling
- Trusted resources for clinician and patient use
A live Q&A session will follow the presentations. If you have any questions that you would like to be addressed during the Q&A session, please place them under the tab labeled "Submit Your Questions"
