The Mastery of MFM program is an online question bank for MFM specialists in training or in practice. Learners can acquire and maintain knowledge in the field by taking practice tests that provide detailed answer explanations and references for further study.  Subscribers can earn up to 15 credits of CME. The one-year subscription will allow learners to evaluate their progress by seeing the number of questions answered correctly. Target audience: MFM Fellows and MFM Subspecialists

Objectives:

  • Apply evidence-based medicine to answer clinical questions in the MFM specialty and utilize detailed answer explanations and references for further study.
  • Select appropriate treatment plans and procedures based on the best available evidence for the management of common maternal and fetal conditions, and describe potential adverse effects of these approaches.
  • Identify normal and abnormal processes of the endocrine, cardiovascular and respiratory systems during pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the postpartum period.
  • Describe the mechanisms of embryology and of processes leading to normal and abnormal development of the fetus and placenta
  • Identify risk factors and primary screening modalities for common genetic and chromosome disorders, fetal anomalies, and in-utero infections. 
  • Describe the clinical manifestations of common medical and surgical complications during pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the postpartum period.
  • Determine the best (e.g. most accurate, safest or least expensive) method of diagnosing and treating common maternal and fetal disorders. Relate basic concepts of nutrition and metabolism to the maintenance of health and development of disease states among pregnant individuals and the developing fetus and neonate.
