After completing the course, the learner should be able to:
- Explain why the terms fetal growth restriction (FGR) and small for gestational age (SGA) should not be used interchangeably.
- Describe the variations in diagnostic criteria for FGR and summarize the evidence that supports SMFM’s diagnostic criteria.
- List components of the initial workup after the diagnosis of early and late FGR.
- Discuss the FGR surveillance methods recommended by SMFM and the rationale for their recommendation.
- Describe the management and delivery options in the setting of FGR based on the results of umbilical artery Doppler velocimetry results.
