Upon completion of the components in this module, the learner will be able to:

  1. Describe indications for venovenous (VV) and venoarterial (VA) extracorporeal membrane oxygenation ECMO relevant to the obstetric population.
  2. Outline components of VV-ECMO emphasizing utility in acute respiratory distress syndrome.
  3. Review considerations for VA-ECMO in the setting of cardiac failure and cardiac arrest.
  4. Solidify approach to addressing clinical concerns for the obstetric patient with possible ECMO needs.


Registrants will have a full year to complete the module from the date of enrollment.
