The Critical Care in Obstetrics Online Course Cardiac Disease Bundle consists of the following 5 modules (7.5 hours of learning) each offering 1.5 CME credits (a total of 7.5 CME credits):

Congenital Heart Disease

Maternal Cardiac Arrest in Pregnancy 

Myocardial Infarction in Pregnancy 

Peripartum Cardiomyopathy 

Acquired Cardiac Disease in Pregnancy 


Completion of all components within a module and a score of 75% or greater on the post-test quiz are necessary for attainment of 1.5 CME credits. 

This course will be available for purchase from January 2025 to December 31, 2025. Registrants will have a full year to complete the course from the date of enrollment.

    1. Summarize physical changes in pregnancy that impact the cardiovascular system.
    2. Explain risks during pregnancy and delivery of specific acquired heart diseases. 
      1. Cardiomyopathy 
      2. Valvular Heart Disease 
      3. Arrhythmias 
    3. Identify required elements of delivery planning in the setting of acquired heart disease.

    2. Describe the etiology and pathophysiology of PAMI and how they differ from non-pregnant MI. 
    3. Discuss signs, symptoms, and diagnosis of STEMI and non-STEMI. 
    4. Discuss the basic principles of management of pregnancy-associated STEMI and procedure-based treatments. 
    5. Describe the components of patient counseling for subsequent pregnancies.
